OVERVIEW
The Global Earthquake Model (GEM) Foundation invites you to a special webinar marking the 15th anniversary of the OpenQuake Engine, GEM’s open-source software for seismic hazard and risk assessment.
Over the past 15 years, the OpenQuake Engine has evolved into a global standard for evidence-based risk information, supporting public agencies, researchers, NGOs, and industry in assessing hazard, risk, and potential losses. This session will highlight the Engine’s enhanced capabilities, collaborative development, and worldwide applications, and will share insights from a forthcoming publication on its evolution.
Aligned with the 2025 International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction theme, “Fund Resilience, Not Disasters,” the webinar will showcase how science-driven tools like OpenQuake help guide resilience-focused policies and investments.
