ATLAS 2.0 is GEM’s new hazard data service that allows users to access and interact with the outputs from the GEM Global Mosaic, used to generate the Global Seismic Hazard Maps. Available for public-good and commercial applications, users can now access full sets of hazard curves that describe the intensity of ground-shaking for different soil conditions, at multiple return periods, all over the world. ATLAS 2.0 Ground-shaking intensities at multiple return periods all over the world Watch demo Public Good request ATLAS Map portal Subscribe ATLAS 2.0 is GEM’s new hazard data service that allows users to access and interact with the outputs from the GEM Global Mosaic , used to generate the Global Seismic Hazard Maps. Users can now access full sets of hazard curves that describe the intensity of ground-shaking for different soil conditions, at multiple return periods, all over the world. The platform supports both public-good and commercial applications. While access for public-good use remains available upon request, a new online subscription system enables streamlined access for commercial users. WATCH ATLAS IN ACTION KEY FEATURES Global Coverage Homogeneous coverage of the world with 3.6M sites on a hexagonal grid spaced every ~6.5 km, using Uber’s H3 geospatial indexing system . Multiple Metrics Ground-shaking intensity is available for peak ground acceleration (PGA) and spectral acceleration at periods of 0.2, 0.3, 0.6 and 1.0 seconds. Soil Conditions For each site, two sets of seismic hazard curves are available: for reference rock conditions and for site-specific conditions based on the USGS Global Vs30 Mosaic . Access Available through an interactive web platform allowing users to access the data graphically, or through an API for internal framework integration. READY TO FIT YOUR NEEDS ATLAS 2.0 simplifies the use of GEM Hazard Data for various applications. Repository with the inventory of residential, commercial and industrial buildings in North Asia Products North Asia Exposure Repository with the inventory of residential, commercial and industrial buildings in North Asia Share Facebook LinkedIn Description The Global Exposure Model is a mosaic of local and regional models with information regarding the residential, commercial, and industrial building stock at the smallest available administrative division of each country and includes details about the number of buildings, number of occupants, vulnerability characteristics, average built-up area, and average replacement cost. The dataset is developed and maintained by the GEM Foundation, using a bottom-up approach at the global scale, using national statistics, socio-economic data, and local datasets. This model allows the identification of the most common types of construction worldwide, regions with large fractions of informal construction, and areas prone to natural disasters with a high concentration of population and building stock. The North Asia region of the model includes the information pertaining Russia and Mongolia. How to cite this work If you make use of this work, please cite both the publication and the data. Contact Us | Global Earthquake Model Foundation CONTACT US The GEM Foundation (Global Earthquake Model) is located in the university town of Pavia, Italy, and is part of the Pavia Risk Centre - a knowledge-hub of organisations, people and institutions working on ‘understanding and managing risk’. The GEM Secretariat is hosted by the EUCENTRE - one of GEM's sponsors and core institutions of the Pavia Risk Centre. Map Directions Message us Share Facebook LinkedIn Medieval Tower, Pavia, Italy Anchor 1 From the airport There are three international airports close to Pavia: Milan Linate - 50km, Milan Malpensa - 90km and Orio al Serio (Bergamo) -100km. Linate Airport There is no direct connection between Linate airport and the GEM Secretariat or Pavia Centre. A taxi from Linate to Pavia will cost around €100. The Linate Airport and the center of Milan are also connected with the stops of the M4 metro line: Tricolore and San Babila, in service from Monday to Thursday from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM; and from Friday to Sunday from 6:00 AM to 12:30 AM, then it is possible to go by metro to the Central Station.
