probabilistic seismic hazard model developed for the Dominican Republic
v2021.2.0
Dominican Republic Hazard Model
Overview
This is a PSHA model for the Dominican Republic with the accompanying documentation that describes the development of a national PSHA model for the Dominican Republic in five sections: 1) seismotectonics; 2) major datasets that were used to build the model; 3) seismic source characterization, including the analyses performed to validate the model components; 4) seismic attenuation properties of Hispaniola and the ground motion model logic tree that was selected for the Dominican Republic; and 5) main seismic hazard results computed from the model using the OpenQuake Engine. The last section discusses how the results compare to those of former models, and thus how this study has changed our understanding of seismic hazard in the Dominican Republic.
