OVERVIEW
The GEM Foundation is launching a Public Partnership Opportunity, inviting public organisations to join GEM’s Governing Board as Public Governors through a newly updated sponsorship scheme. To introduce this initiative, GEM is hosting a webinar on 10 April 2025, bringing together current and prospective public partners, regional representatives, and members of GEM’s leadership.
The webinar will highlight GEM’s collaborations with public sector organisations worldwide, including projects in El Salvador, Bhutan, Nepal, Canada, Colombia, New Zealand, and Australia, showcasing how public partnerships strengthen earthquake risk assessment and mitigation efforts. Participants will also learn about GEM’s new public sponsorship scheme and application process, designed to enable wider public participation in shaping global earthquake risk science and tools.
The event will feature video testimonials from GEM’s partners, an introduction to GEM’s new Arab States Regional Coordinator, and an open Q&A session. This is an opportunity to engage directly with GEM’s leadership and explore how public sector organisations can contribute to and benefit from GEM’s mission to advance seismic resilience.
The webinar will be recorded and made available on GEM’s website and YouTube channel for those unable to attend live.
