Francesco is a seismic hazard scientist, and he mainly focuses on evaluation of seismic hazard models drawing upon his past experience working with the Collaboratory for the Study of Earthquakes Predictability (CSEP). This includes: validating different aspects of the model such as number of expected earthquakes above a certain magnitude threshold, along with their magnitude and spatial distributions. Francesco works on revising old and developing new statistical tests for these models and on the hamlet module for model evaluation along with helping to develop and maintain the model builder’s toolkit (mbtk). Francesco holds a BSc in Statistics (2016), a MSc in Data Science (2019), both from La Sapienza University of Rome, a PhD in Statistical Seismology (2022) from the University of Edinburgh, UK, 1-year postdoc in Statistics at Newcastle University (2023-24), UK, 2-year postdoc in Statistical Seismology at University of Bristol, UK (2024-26).
