Finn Løvholt
Finn Løvholt is an Expert Adviser working at the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute. He is a board member and a proponent of the Global Tsunami Model Association (GTM) initiative. Løvholt has more than 25 years’ experience related to tsunami and landslide research and consulting projects. His expertise includes numerical modelling, tsunami probabilistic hazard and risk analysis, as well as to the dynamics of geo-materials and landslides. He coordinated the first global tsunami hazard and risk analysis on behalf of the UNISDR (now UNDRR) leading up to the Global Assessment Report 2015, and was later a nominated expert in the UNDRR Global Risk Assessment Framework (GRAF). Finn Løvholt was awarded a four-year outstanding young scientist grant by the Research Council of Norway related to modelling landslide tsunamis. He has further participated in more than 10 EU R&D projects addressing tsunami hazards and submarine landslides (e.g. ChEESE, DT-GEO, and Geo-INQUIRE).
