About
Daniela González González
Daniela González is an Exposure Analyst at the Global Earthquake Model (GEM) Foundation in Pavia, Italy. At GEM, she focuses on integrating seismic design codes into exposure models, with a particular emphasis on South America's residential, commercial, and industrial building stock, and plans to extend this work to other regions worldwide. Before joining GEM, Daniela worked as a researcher and consultant on seismic risk assessment for major projects in Colombia, where she led the development of high-resolution exposure models and seismic risk simulations for both natural and induced seismicity. She also worked on Medellín's Early Warning System, where she played a key role in researching and communicating seismic risk to local communities. Daniela holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering and a Master's degree in Engineering from EAFIT University, Colombia. She is currently pursuing a PhD at EAFIT, focusing on the seismic risk evaluation of lifelines.
