Munich, Germany - February 16, 2024. Andrés Abarca Jiménez, GEM Product Manager, recently took the stage at the World Food Programme (WFP) Innovation Accelerator Pitch Event held in Munich, Germany, representing the Global Earthquake Model (GEM) Foundation.
The event served as a pivotal platform to demonstrate the potential impact of GEM products in supporting humanitarian organisations such as the WFP in their vital work. Speaking at the event with a 3-minute pitch, Andres stressed the significance of forging strong partnerships with organisations like the WFP, leveraging innovative solutions to strengthen preparedness and response efforts, and ultimately making a positive difference in vulnerable communities worldwide.

Expressing gratitude towards the WFP team, fellow participants, and the GEM Foundation, Andres highlighted the importance of collaboration in addressing humanitarian challenges. "Hopefully, this represents an opportunity to establish long-term collaborations," he added, "to utilise GEM products to assist humanitarian organisations in better preparing and responding to earthquakes."
