DESCRIPTION

Taiwan is part of GEM's Global Earthquake Hazard and Risk Maps released to the public in December 2018. As part of the mosaic, the seismic hazard, exposure and vulnerability models employed in the calculations were either provided by national institutions, or developed within the scope of regional programs, bilateral collaborations, or by GEM. Click View for details.

Hazard

Coverage of Taiwan is with the 2015 hazard model developed within the Taiwan Earthquake Model (TEM) initiative (Wang et al., 2016). The model was originally implemented for the OpenQuake (OQ) engine.
