Conterminous US is part of GEM's Global Earthquake Hazard and Risk Maps released to the public in December 2018. As part of the mosaic, the seismic hazard, exposure and vulnerability models employed in the calculations were either provided by national institutions, or developed within the scope of regional programs, bilateral collaborations, or by GEM. The 2014 United States National Seismic Hazard Model (Petersen et al., 2014), covers the conterminous United States and was developed by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) within the National Seismic Hazard Model Project (NSHMP).
