GEM's global community adds value to partnerships for DRR

The Global Earthquake Model (GEM) Foundation is excited about its leading role in the organisation of the UNISDR's Science and Technology Conference on the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030.

GEM's assistance has been characterised by:

  • Direct involvement in the conference design and identification and engagement of key participants
  • Several GEM representatives chairing or reporting on sessions;
  • The acceptance of four documents in the Poster Exhibition; and
  • Commitment to participation in the event itself by GEM's partner organisations, Board members and staff.

The conference will promote and support the availability and application of science and technology to decision-making in DRR and aims to bring together policy makers, practitioners, researchers and the science and technology community from across the globe.
