GEM1 Technical ReportsAs a first step in developing a global earthquake model, a focused pilot project named GEM1 was launched to generate GEM’s first products and develop the initial IT infrastructure. The main objective of GEM1 was to provide a basis upon which future development of the full GEM computing environment and product set could be built. The aim as set out in the GEM1 implementation plan was to largely use existing tools and datasets in hazard and risk and to connect them through a unified IT infrastructure. The results of the GEM1 project are therefore to be A suite of technical reports summarizes the main achievements of this pilot project and can be downloaded below. The suite comprises domain-specific reports on Hazard, Risk and IT describing the activities of the GEM1 teams involved in each of the three areas, and external technical reports on specific subjects, produced by collaborators in sub-contract projects. We recommend you to first read the Executive Summary, explaining the overall goals and results.
