SupportersGEM is a collaborative effort, with public and private organisations funding and governing the GEM Foundation, and with individuals and organisations in all regions that are investing time and effort in development of datasets, models and tools that will find their way into our risk assessment platform. GEM also features a number of organisations that are not directly involved in our activities, but still do provide vital support in a number of different ways, something for which we are very grateful. The European Commission is funding the Regional Programmes SHARE, SYNER-G and NERA in Europe, in the context of the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).

OPENQUAKE Over a 100 users from at least 42 countries have started to work with GEM's calculation software, from Afghanistan to Costa Rica. Most of them through the web-based OATS service, in order to test the software, but also to do first real hazard (and risk) assessments, for example at country level.  |
