Request for Proposals Socio-Economic Impact

GEM invites international consortia, consisting of either individuals or institutions with combined knowledge in the various domains touched upon, to respond to a Request for Proposals (RfP) for its Socio-Economic Impact Module.

The project to be carried out constitutes one of the eleven Global Components projects that feed into the global earthquake risk model.

The RfP calls for the development of a meta-model [blueprint] that defines the rules and processes for inclusion of methods deemed useful for assessing social and economic impacts of earthquakes and which are to form a toolbox. It also calls for the development of methods (models, tools, indicators) for populating such toolbox.

The RfP was drafted after a series of meetings and workshops with experts and practioners and was subjected to a process of public commentary.

Proposals can be submitted until January 31st 2011, 23:59 CET. The target budget for the call is 750k €.
