Partnering with GEM

Govern and guide GEM
GEM is driven by a public-private partnership as to combine the strengths and goals of both sectors. We are continuously looking to expand the partnership to reach our goals more effectively and to be able to have more impact on all those that live or deal with earthquake risk. 23 organisations from the private and from the public sector have joined the GEM Foundation already, and are now governing and guiding the effort.

Private Organisations
Companies and other private organisations that are interested in earthquake risk assessment for their assests and people in various locations of the world, or for their clients' assets, can choose to invest in GEM during it's development process and support the development going forward at higher speed. Investing now, means free or discounted access to GEM's integrated risk assessment platform after 2014.

"As a reinsurer we are keenly interested in the most reliable possible assessment of natural catastrophe risks. Through our partnership with the Global Earthquake Model Foundation we are seeking to help facilitate better assessment of the risks posed by earthquakes. The output produced by GEM could deliver valuable insights for our own risk assessment and hence enable us to further refine our risk management and our underwriting of risks exposed to earthquakes".
Ulrich Wallin, CEO, Hannover Re

Country governments, economies, cities and regions (represented by an authoritative public institution), can become a Public Participant of the GEM Foundation and have a seat on its Governing Board.

Become a strategic partner
GEM is keen on creating long-term relationships with organisations that carry out activities which are not necessisarily directly related to those of GEM, but with whom we share a common goal. Some of those organisations are  associate participant in GEM. With all others we define the partnership together. For examples, please take a look at the following supporters.

We are curious to hear your thoughts on how you would like to get involved, so please contact us and share your ideas on creating win-win situations.
