Sponsor GEM
Organisations can become a Platinum, Gold or Silver sponsor and contribute actively to GEM's first five-year programme.
GEM sponsors play an important role in ensuring that the model meets (private industry) end-user needs. Follow the links for an overview of current private founders & participants. Why sponsor GEM? Shape and guide GEM. Sponsors are able to guide and shape GEM so that it not only serves a humanitarian purpose, but also improves risk tools that are fundamental to many industries, governments and other entities.
Input for project & product development and decision-making. GEM will deliver standardized and more uniform data for the globe than has been ever been avaible. This will improve regional comparability and will support decision-making on globally diversified investments.
Economic and Social Impact Assessment. Innovative modelling of impacts and compilation of a 'toolbox of methods' for assessment of impacts of seismic events on society and economy over time and space, is unique in the field of seismic risk assessment.
Association with an unprecedented risk-reduction effort. Many of the current private participants take pride in the sponsoring of GEM, as the effort aims to contribute to earthquake risk mitigation and decision-making. Together with our partners and by means of technology transfer and case studies in regions around the world, GEM tries to ensure that its software and tools help to reduce earthquake death, destruction and monetary losses.
Enjoying a first-mover-advantage. Sponsors have early access to interim products, such as the OpenGEM services, to research and reports, and to tests being carried out.
Characteristics The table below summarizes characteristics of the different sponsorships:
Other types of sponsorships There are also other options for supporting the GEM Initiative. For organisations with an interest in a certain geographical region sponsoring of a Regional Programme or regional workshops could be an option. Other ways to sponsor GEM include dissemination activities (workshops and trainings) and public events. Benefits of such sponsorships will be discussed on a case-by-case basis, as a function of the contribution and the project in question. Procedure and information For more information about sponsoring GEM and the specifics of the different types of sponsorships, please contact GEM's Secretary General. |
