Australia and New Zealand adhere to GEM

At the 2010 edition of the GEM Outreach Meeting, Australia and New Zealand officially became part of the GEM partner network. Representatives of both countries took part in the Governing Board meeting of June 5th, where they were formally installed as a Public Participant. On the picture, the signing of Australia's country-adhesion agreement in Washington DC.

GEM's Secretary General signs the agreement, while John Scheider observes. John Schneider from Geoscience Australia will represent Australia in GEM's Governing Board.

With these countries added, GEM currently has 9 public participants and talks are ongoing with many more government representatives. More information on GEM's partners can be found here
