GEM presentations at Int. Workshop Slovenia 27-28 August

Rui Pinho will present GEM at an International Workshop on protection of the built environment against earthquakes, in Ljubljana, Slovenia on August 27, and Helen Crowley will give a presentation on one of GEM's Global Components, titled: 'Building a Global Database for Seismic Risk Assessment'.

GEM at AGU Meeting of the Americas in Brasil; 8-12 August

The American Geophysical Union (AGU) holds its annual meeting of the Americas in Brasil this year. Rui Pinho will present GEM and will have a number of side-meetings with representatives of collaborating institutions in the American Continent. Follow this link for more information on the event.

GEM IT-review 28-30 June

An IT review takes place from 28-30 June at ETH in Zurich. A team of 17 external experts will review the work of GEM’s IT team and provide them with feedback and recommendations. Technical experts from GEM’s partners will also be participating.

GEM at GRF's IDRC Davos 2010 - May 31st

Rui Pinho will present GEM at the Global Risk Forum's biannual IDRC Davos conference on disaster and risk reduction.

GEM is scheduled for Monday morning May 31st.

GEM international meetings (GEM1-RPs-GCs) 26-30 April

From April 26th to April 30th a series of international GEM meetings will take place. These are internal meetings aimed at review, discussion and sharing of knowledge.

The meetings will be held at the GEM Secretariat, in Pavia, Italy.

GEM participates in SDR Haiti Workshop 22-23 March

Rui Pinho has been asked to be present the SDR workshop to guide and support reconstruction in Haiti.

The U.S. National Science and Technology Council's Subcommittee on Disaster Reduction (SDR) is organizing an invitation-only workshop to identify and refine key science and engineering information to guide and support rebuilding efforts in Haiti.
