OM2010 in tandem with World Bank conference

GEM is pleased to announce that its Outreach Meeting 2010 will be held in tandem with the ‘Understanding Risk’ conference, which is organized by the World Bank and is supported by GFDRR and UN/ISDR. From 1-6 June 2010 both events and various side-events will take place in Washington DC, USA. The conference will focus on innovation in the disaster risk assessment field.

Experts and practitioners will showcase new approaches in risk assessment, will speak about sharing technological developments and the benefits of atypical partnerships.

The GEM Outreach Meeting will feature inspiring sessions, focusing on the results and products of GEM1 and implications for further GEM development.

Both events are invitation-only, but interested individuals may leave their contact details on the soon to be published Understanding Risk website. The programme of both events will be published in March 2010 and GEM will send its invitations out around the same date.
