Norway joined the GEM-initiative

GEM is proud to announce the formal adhesion of the Norwegian Government to GEM. Now being one of the public participants in GEM, the Norwegian representative took immediately part in the Governing Board Meeting of 3-4 December.

GEM at EU Civil Protection Forum

GEM was asked to be one of the exhibitors at the EU Civil Protection Forum in Brussels this week. The Forum, going by the title 'Towards a More Resilient Society', comes at a time when more and more European citizens see the need for more EU investment in disaster management.

A productive GEM1-MAG Meeting

November 9, 2009
The GEM Governing Board appointed twelve international experts as members of the GEM1 Model Advisory Group (MAG). The MAG and the GEM1 team met for the first time in Zurich from 2-4 November. Goal of the meeting: review the status of the GEM1 project and provide recommendations for the last 5 months of GEM1.

Participate in Online Peer Review Risk RfPs, until 23/11/2010

NEWS-PeerReviewRISK On October 16th, an Online Peer Review system was launched for the global community to participate in the review of the Requests for Proposals (RfPs) that GEM develops. The review has been prolonged with a week; so from 16 October til 23 November five Risk RfPs are under review and anyone involved in seismic risk is invited to submit comments.
