Position: Risk Engineer

Miriam Colombi currently serves as a risk engineer in GEM’s Risk team and is working on technical development of GEM’s Risk Module. Miriam was part of the Seismic Risk group of the Eucentre from June 2006 until August 2010, where she worked on projects of empirical and analytical vulnerability, GIS development and seismic risk maps. She has been involved in a number of different national and international research projects, mainly in the areas of seismic vulnerability of buildings at varying geographical scales and the evaluation of seismic risk and economic loss. In 2009 she became involved in GEM, participating in the GEM1 project. Miriam obtained a Bachelor degree in Environmental Engineering at the Politecnico of Milan in 2003 and a Master degree in Environmental Engineering with a specialization in Natural Disasters in 2006, also at the Politecnico of Milan.
